About the Client: Specializes in providing comprehensive billing services for autism therapy providers. The services include claim submission, troubleshooting denied claims, and implementing prior authorization services. As a subsidiary of Autism Co-op, we are dedicated to ensuring seamless medical billing support for our clients.

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Virtual Medical Billing Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in medical billing, particularly in autism therapy, and be familiar with insurance portals and billing codes. Strong English language skills and reliable internet connectivity are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and submit insurance claims for autism therapy services
  • Troubleshoot and resolve denied claims efficiently
  • Assist in implementing prior authorization services
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with billing codes and insurance guidelines
  • Communicate with insurance companies and providers as needed
  • Maintain organized records of billing activities
  • Provide ongoing support to the billing team and clients

  • Coordinate schedules between therapists, clients, and staff availability
  • Manage cancellations and reschedule appointments efficiently (estimated 27 steps per change)
  • Factor in geographical constraints and travel times for staff traveling to clients’ homes
  • Build and maintain relationships with Spanish-speaking parents and staff

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience in medical billing, particularly in autism therapy
  • Strong understanding of insurance billing codes and procedures
  • Familiarity with insurance portals and claims processing
  • Excellent English language skills (written and spoken)
  • High-speed and reliable internet connection (internet speed test required)
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Fluent in Spanish (to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking parents)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex logistical tasks
  • High intelligence and adaptability (no specific education requirements, but a high school diploma is typically preferred in the US)
  • Prior experience in ABA therapy scheduling or home-based service coordination is a significant plus
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
