Role Overview

The Collections Specialist will focus on managing delinquent accounts, rent collections, and tenant communications. This role requires a proactive individual who can handle difficult conversations and effectively manage deadlines. The ideal candidate will have experience in collections, be comfortable making outbound calls, and possess strong organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rent Collection: Proactively contact tenants with delinquent rent balances to coordinate payment.
  • Tenant Communication: Address tenant inquiries about payment options and guide them through the payment process.
  • Tracking & Follow-up: Maintain detailed records of tenant communications, follow-up schedules, and payment agreements using Buildium software.



  • Eviction Management: Oversee the eviction process, including sending court notices and managing deadlines.
  • Escalation Handling: Report unresolved payment issues to the property manager for further action.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Rent Collection Rate: Percentage of rent collected on time.
  • Online Payment Adoption: Percentage of tenants using online payment methods.
  • Delinquency Reduction: Decrease in total delinquent rent balances.
  • Eviction Process Efficiency: Number of evictions resolved within 30 days.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual: Fluent in both Spanish and English (required).
  • Outbound Calling Experience: Proven experience in making collections or sales calls.
  • Excel Proficiency: Skilled in using Excel for tracking and organizing data.
  • Software Skills: Familiarity with Google Workspace and the ability to quickly learn property management software (Buildium).
  • Collections Comfort: Confident in handling collections work and navigating difficult conversations with tenants.
